As we're only a small team and pack everything by hand, it can take a few days longer during bigger promotions or in peak season. Either way, you'll receive an email with a tracking link so you can follow your parcel.

Yes! Every starter kit is packed in its own box and contains one coconut shell, 3x organic seeds and 3x coco soil bricks. So you can easily give them away individually or use them yourself.

In the colder and changeable seasons, differences in moisture can cause stress cracks in your Grow-Grow Nut. When the dry coconut shell comes into contact with the watered soil and becomes damp inside, it expands. This creates tension within the shell, which can lead to cracks or even cause it to split.

To avoid this, we recommend moistening the shell completely and soaking it for 2–3 hours before filling it.

If it happens anyway, just get in touch. We'll of course replace your Grow-Grow Nut free of charge!

Two more tips:

1. Micro roots: If you notice small, white, fluffy hairs on the seedlings during the first few days, they are most likely micro roots. They're a natural part of germination, help the young plants absorb moisture from the air and are completely harmless.

Here's how to tell them apart from mould: micro roots appear pretty much overnight, evenly on all seedlings, and sit right on the roots. If you mist them with a little water, they collapse and briefly disappear. Mould, on the other hand, usually starts in one spot, spreads from there in a cobweb-like pattern over the soil and seeds, often looks greyish-green and smells musty. 2. Sowing: We designed the seed packets so that you end up with a nice, full Grow-Grow Nut. So you can use the whole packet for one growing cycle. Of course, you're welcome to experiment. The key thing is to press the soil down as level as possible before sowing, so the seeds don't pile up and can spread evenly.

Yes, absolutely! The coconut makes an excellent plant pot as it's naturally sturdy and water-resistant. We've already grown some Grow-Grow Nuts more than 50 times!

Pro tip: Rub the inside of your Grow-Grow Nut with oil every now and then – it cares for and protects the natural material.

Nobody likes mould… and just like potted plants with a hole in the pot, it's highly recommended that excess water can drain away when growing in a coconut shell. Otherwise, you get waterlogging and possibly mould – and we'd like to spare you that!

When the coco soil is compressed, there are occasionally variations that can affect how well it swells. But don't worry, the ingredients are unchanged. We recommend breaking the coco soil into small pieces by hand while it soaks. Alternatively, you can put a coco soil brick into about 250 ml of warm water for a few minutes.

Until 2022, for every Grow-Grow Nut we supported a non-profit organisation for global forest restoration – and had more than 200,000 trees planted this way.

In principle you can reuse the soil, but you should sieve out the old roots after each use, as they can otherwise go mouldy. Over time, the soil also loses nutrients, which may affect how well the microgreens grow. That's why we recommend using a new coco soil brick after 3–4 growing cycles at the latest. But as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating!

Microgreens are young seedlings that are usually grown on soil and can be harvested within 2 weeks at most. These baby vegetables aren't just colourful and delicious – they're also packed with nutrients.

Most of the food we eat isn't really fresh. A head of broccoli from the supermarket was harvested in the field a few days ago – or rather, separated from the soil. On its way from the field to your plate, the vegetable loses a large part of its nutrients and vitamins. Especially in the colder months, vegetables often come from further south and have an even longer journey behind them.

With the Grow-Grow Nut, you can grow fresh vitamins and nutrients at home on your windowsill all year round. A red cabbage microgreen, for example, has 260 times as much beta-carotene, 6 times as much vitamin C and 40 times as much vitamin E per gram as fully grown red cabbage (source: Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry).

Microgreens are real vegetables, just harvested at a young stage. As vegetable seeds only germinate once and we harvest the seedling, they don't grow back.

So after harvesting your Grow-Grow Nut (feel free to cut right down, just above the root), we recommend putting the used soil and roots on the compost or in the organic waste bin, and then starting a new growing cycle with fresh coco soil and new organic seeds. Let's grow again!

In theory you can reuse the coco soil, but the old roots should be removed completely first (e.g. by sieving). However, we recommend changing the soil regularly, as it contains important nutrients that decrease over time.

Stored in a cool, dry and dark place, the seeds easily keep for several years.

Unless stated explicitly, the packets contain between 3 and 10 g of organic seeds, depending on the variety. The amount is always matched to one growing cycle in the Grow-Grow Nut – so you can use the whole packet.
